Indigenous Story Telling Though the Creative Lens of G.A. Fuller

 Welcome,

Let me begin by respectfully acknowledging the traditional territories of the Qualicum, and Snaw'naw'as Coast Salish people from where I live and work. I am a tribal member of the vibrant Snuneymuxw Nation which resides in the centre of the Coast Salish territory, on the eastern coast of Vancouver Island, BC Canada in the heart of the Salish Sea.

Much of my photography includes the artistry of First Nation's people that is publicly displayed but lose their meaning though time. I research and have conversations with the artists and elders to understand how their vision and crests have meaning within their family, clan or their spiritual beliefs. The importance of animals is evident in the creation of stories, and are often used to share family, clan, and personal stories.

The totem animal is the main guiding spirit and often stays with the family thoughout their lineage. I try to ensure that theses meanings are represented in my photography.
